WORLD MISSION SUNDAY – TODAY
Our Church, really Christ’s Church that he established for us, a missionary church by its very nature. Jesus instructed the apostles and all of us to go and teach all peoples, and then baptize them in the name of the Trinity. So we are called to be “missionary apostles” as Pope Francis teaches us. We proclaim this reality every Sunday in our Profession of Faith: “We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.”
This Sunday the whole Catholic Church celebrates who we are as Catholics on the World Mission Sunday. We are called to offer our prayers for the thousands of missionaries working in almost every nation and region of the world, and for all who in their own way spread the Good News of Jesus to others. This Sunday we make our generous contribution to support the work of the Pope’s Society of the Propagation of the Faith, which seeks to support all the Catholic missionaries.
Your generous gift using the special envelope in your monthly packet can be placed in the collection today or next Sunday, or send it to the Parish Office as soon as possible.
PARDON THE TYPO LAST WEEK CONCERNING THE DATE FOR THE PARISH APPRECIATION DINNER –
IT WILL BE ON SATURDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 13TH.
Your very own St. Bernadette Parish Family would like to invite you to a free dinner to show that the parish is grateful for all that you do to serve the parish. Next week we will have information on how you can make a reservation. As your Pastor I would like to be able to thank everyone for being very good stewards of the gifts the Lord has bestowed upon you and sharing your talents, your time, and your treasure with the Lord through the parish. There are so many activities and ministries that you help out with, and too often there is not enough gratitude expressed your service.
So mark your calendars for a lovely dinner with your fellow parishioners on Sat. Nov. 13th, after the Saturday evening Mass. More details later!

Same ol’! Same ol’!
- BERNADETTE JUBILEE COMMITTEE – MEETING, Mon., Nov. 8th, 7pm, Feckter Hall
The year 2022 will be the 75th anniversary of the founding of our parish of St. Bernadette in 1947. The opening of the 75th Jubilee Year will be with our Parish Feast Day dinner in February and the closing of the Jubilee celebration will be in September with Archbishop Rozanski to celebrate the actual anniversary.
In our recent parish Stewardship Covenant card, we had a spot for people to volunteer to be on the Jubilee Committee. Happily eight members signed up. We will have our first meeting on Monday, November 8th. Hopefully those volunteers can come and anyone else who would like to be in on the planning of our parish’s 75th Jubilee.
