KNEE REPORT #12

Just got back from my orthopedic surgeon, and there’s a little bit of concern on his part about the incision from May which just started leaking some serous fluid again.  This is significant because he will not go ahead with the knee replacement surgery until at least two weeks from when it stops leaking fluid for fear of bacterial infection entering the knee joint through that little pinhole.

He did draw some fluid from the knee to test to make sure the six week antibiotic infusion eliminated all the previous bacteria; the fluid will be placed in different cultures to see if any bacteria grows – hopefully not.    Results of this test will take two weeks.  Let’s keep praying diligently.  St. Bernadette pray for us!

HOT ENOUGH FOR ICE CREAM?

COME TO OUR ST. BERNADETTE ICE CREAM SOCIAL!

NEXT SUNDAY, AUGUST 8TH, 11:30am, AFTER THE 10:30 Mass

We will belatedly celebrate as a Parish Family our own Sister Kathy Kull, SSND, who had her Golden Jubilee of her becoming a School Sister of Notre Dame 51 years ago down the road at the Notre Dame Motherhouse on Ripa Avenue.  We did not get to properly honor Sr. Kathy last year because of the COVID restrictions for worship services.  So we will celebrate with her next week – one year late!  Come on over after the 10:30am Mass or come back up if you went to an earlier Mass.  We will be serving the ice cream (Ted Drewe’s) from Feckter Hall (east end of the Parish Office).
